Role Overview

The Warehouse Team Lead is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of a warehouse team, ensuring efficient and accurate handling of goods across inbound and outbound processes.

This role involves supervising a small team, coordinating with management, and maintaining high standards of performance, safety, and service. The role blends hands-on operational duties with leadership and administrative responsibilities to support overall warehouse effectiveness.

About The Role

Core Responsibilities

Lead and supervise a warehouse team on a designated shift, including core staff and temporary workers.
  • Coordinate the unloading and loading of delivery vehicles, ensuring timely and accurate stock movements.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate stock records using handheld scanning devices, WMS tools, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Always maintain the warehouse to acceptable standards of housekeeping and ensure waste controls are in place and lead by example to a high level of Health & Safety awareness/compliance and action any areas of concern.
  • Communicate effectively between warehouse staff and depot/shift management
  • Conduct regular briefings with the team to align on daily priorities and provide ongoing coaching and support.
  • Support the allocation of tasks and resources to ensure operational demands are met.
  • Complete daily administrative and reporting tasks to required standards and timelines.
  • Ensure all warehouse areas comply with Health & Safety regulations through checks, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing improvements in processes and workflows to enhance efficiency.
  • Provide cover and assume responsibilities of the Warehouse Shift Manager when required, ensuring continuity of operations and effective team oversight.
Skills and Experience

Experience in a supervisory or lead role within a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and support team members.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Competence in using WMS systems, handheld scanners, and Microsoft Excel.
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and service.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety standards in warehouse operations.
Working Hours

This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week, 5 out of 7 days, working rotating shifts of 6am till 2 pm and 2pm till 10pm.
