What difference will you make?
As a trustee of Endometriosis South Coast, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of a charity that provides vital support to people often overlooked by the healthcare system. Your contributions will directly influence how we grow, how we reach more people, and how we ensure lived experience remains at the heart of everything we do. By helping to guide our strategy, improve our governance, and advocate for equity, your impact will be felt across our support services, campaigns, and educational outreach. You’ll help ensure that our resources are inclusive, that our services are sustainable, and that our community feels seen, heard, and supported. Your voice at the table will help us Provide better support to people navigating chronic pain, misdiagnosis, and systemic healthcare gaps Break down stigma and promote open conversations about endometriosis, adenomyosis, and menstrual health Influence schools, workplaces, and healthcare providers to create more compassionate policies and practices Ensure our operations are transparent, ethical, and community-led Whether you bring professional expertise or personal experience, your involvement will help us build a stronger, more representative charity—one that can grow sustainably while staying true to its grassroots values. Your time and insight will make a real difference to the lives of people living with endometriosis and adenomyosis across the UK.

At Endometriosis South Coast, we believe that a strong board is one that reflects the diversity of the community we serve. We welcome people from all backgrounds and experiences, especially those who bring passion, lived experience, and a commitment to equity and inclusion. We are particularly interested in individuals who have Lived experience of endometriosis or adenomyosis, either personally or as a carer or ally An understanding of the challenges faced by marginalised communities A commitment to inclusion, accessibility, and anti-oppressive practice Experience working with charities, community groups, or voluntary organisations (desirable but not essential) Skills that would strengthen our board include Income generation Finance and budgeting Legal or governance expertise Volunteer management Digital communications, marketing, or social media Public speaking, training, or advocacy Community engagement or grassroots organising We also value creativity, collaboration, and a solutions-focused mindset. Key qualities we’re looking for Enthusiasm and belief in our mission Willingness to listen, challenge constructively, and contribute ideas Integrity, good judgment, and a team spirit Reliability and a commitment to attending quarterly board meetings We are especially keen to hear from people who identify as LGBTQ+, disabled, neurodivergent, or from Black, Asian, or other racially minoritised backgrounds, as these communities are underrepresented in both healthcare and the charity sector. What will you be doing?
Trustee Role Description – Endometriosis South Coast Endometriosis South Coast is a small but passionate charity dedicated to supporting people with endometriosis and adenomyosis. We offer peer support, raise awareness, challenge stigma, and campaign for better care. Our team is made up of volunteers with lived experience, and we’re growing fast. To support our development, we are recruiting new trustees to help guide our work and ensure we remain inclusive, transparent, and sustainable. As a trustee, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of the charity. You’ll work closely with the board and wider team to ensure we meet our charitable objectives, remain compliant with our legal responsibilities, and continue to meet the needs of our community. Responsibilities Attend and actively contribute to monthly trustee meetings (virtual) Help set the charity’s strategic direction Ensure the charity is carrying out its purposes for public benefit Monitor financial and operational performance Champion our values of inclusion, equity, and lived experience Act as an ambassador for the charity in your networks Who We’re Looking For We welcome applications from anyone passionate about our cause, especially those with lived experience of endometriosis or adenomyosis. We are particularly keen to hear from people from underrepresented communities, including LGBTQ+ individuals, disabled people, and people from Black, Asian and other racially marginalised backgrounds.
