We are looking for people to join our friendly and committed Board of Trustees. We are especially interested in hearing from anyone with a background in finance or fundraising.

What are we looking for?

Skills, experience and capacity Prefrably you will have expertise in one or more of the following areas Financial management - Experience and confidence in this area. To support our financial strategy as our current funding strands end and change. To review our budgets and offer advice around these. Knowledge and expertise gained through previous successful work/trustee roles. Fundraising strategy - A strong track record of successful fundraising (planning, decision-making, bid writing etc.) To support and work closely with our AD/CEO and other members of the trustee team to plan and implement a fundraising strategy. Governance - Previous Trustee/ CEO/ leadership management experience to enable you to best support UL. To offer guidance, previous learning and expertise for UL development and growth. If appropriate to provide training to staff and/ or Trustees. Strategic development and planning - Previous experience of working or volunteering in this area. You would work closely with the AD/CEO and fellow Trustees to define, plan and implement our strategy, direction and goals, and how best to achieve these. Management consultancy - Past experience of reviewing projects, identifying weaknesses and strengths and making recommendations to enable you to support our work to the highest possible level. General Requirements Ability to participate in engaged Board discussion and debate Willingness to be involved in the work of the company, e.g. attending events and performances Experience in supporting people to enable them to work to their best ability Capacity to attend a minimum of 4 Board meetings a year and respond to company issues in between, approx. 2 – 3 hours a month Commitment to and belief in the artistic and social aims of Underground Lights

What will you be doing?

Underground Lights is a theatre company run for and by adults experiencing social disadvantage, homelessness and/or mental health issues in Coventry and the surrounding area. We are recruiting Trustees to support us as we continue to grow and develop as a charity. Key areas of development are funding and fundraising, developing as a lived-experience organisation and with representation throughout One Trustee role we would like to appoint is Treasurer. We also welcome applicants with a background in any of the following areas - Financial management- Fundraising and fundraising strategy- Governance- Strategic development and planning- HR- Management consultancy We encourage and welcome applications from people from all backgrounds. We particularly welcome applications from people who have personal experience of mental health issues and/or homelessness.
