We are keen to welcome to our Trustee team someone with a background in Compliance matters, to work with our House Team and external professionals ensuring policies are up to date and actions completed on time.

Abbeyfield Reigate provides sheltered accommodation for older people, and they have really appreciated the work we have done in recent years to upgrade the house and provide a house that feels like a home which also meets all the relevant safety requirements. The Trustee for Compliance will play a key role working with our external suppliers to make sure we continue to invest in improvements where that is needed.
What are we looking for?
Experience in the areas of compliance or risk management The ability to commit circa 10 hours per month for trustee meetings and ad hoc discussions. An understanding of legal duties of charities and trustees - training courses are available to broaden a candidates knowledge. Good, independent judgement, and an ability to think creatively. An ability to work effectively as a team, taking on board the recommendations from externally appointed experts, but contributing an independent perspective.
What will you be doing?
Alongside the statutory duties of a Trustee, the main duty of the Compliance Trustee is to Work with our external supplier for Health & Safety matters to develop the annual plan for Compliance related tasks. This will be based largely on recommendations made by external assessors. Encourage and guide our staff team in the delivery of that plan.
