To succeed as Fair Game’s Volunteer Social Media Manager, you’ll need A strong passion for football, with a good understanding of current issues, from player welfare to fan engagement. Experience using social media scheduling and monitoring tools such as Buffer. A solid grasp of all major social media platforms and how to leverage them to boost the Fair Game brand and amplify key messages. A creative mindset, especially skilled at producing engaging short-form video content tailored to our audience. Excellent writing, sub-editing, and proofreading skills. Relevant, recent experience managing social media for a brand or organisation. A strategic outlook with the ability to think quickly and respond to opportunities online. Great interpersonal skills and attention to detail. A genuine commitment to Fair Game’s values and a passion for transforming football for the better. We are seeking a Volunteer Social Media Manager to lead and expand Fair Game’s online presence as we advocate for a fairer future in football. You’ll play a key role in driving awareness and engagement by managing our social media content, keeping up with football news, and helping shape our voice online. This is a hands-on, flexible opportunity where your creativity and ideas will directly influence how we connect with fans, clubs, and the wider football community. Specifically, we’re looking for someone to Develop and manage a content calendar for our social media channels Create and schedule engaging posts, graphics, and short-form video Monitor football news and trends to identify opportunities to join conversations Amplify the work of Fair Game, our member clubs, and partner organisations Respond to comments and messages in a timely and professional way Contribute to our overall social media strategy and bring new ideas Work closely with our communications team, designers, and fellow volunteers Ensure women’s football and key equality issues are highlighted in our content You’ll work alongside our volunteer Director of Communications and Head of Communications. The core structure of the role is in place, but there’s room to shape your contribution based on your skills and interests, whether that’s content creation, analytics, campaign planning, or strategic development. This is a great opportunity to help define the digital voice of a national campaign, build valuable experience in sport and non-profit communications, and play a part in transforming the future of football.
