BCHA are a charitable housing association supporting individuals and families across the South West and South of England. We are a major provider of a diverse range of housing, support and learning services for socially excluded people.
The Respite Rooms supports single women experiencing homelessness, violence against women and girls (VAWG) and multiple disadvantage, by providing safe and secure temporary accommodation.
Position:
You will have experience working with homeless people and/or other socially excluded people with a sound understanding of safeguarding and adhering to safeguarding practises. Ideally you will have knowledge of VAWG and the unique challenges women experience whilst they are homeless.

Requirements:
4 week rolling rota, including evenings and weekends.

- prioritise the immediate safety needs of the customers and manage risk;
- enable customers to access local support services;
- engage customers in their own recovery and support planning;
- support customers to access move-on accommodation to continue their journey of safety and recovery
- provide intensive personalised support and effective case management;
- support access to services including legal, mental health, sexual, domestic, drug & alcohol abuse;
- build professional working relationships - internally & externally;
- be a resilient, confident, calm, practical & pragmatic person;
- be self-motivated, proactive, assertive, empathic and non-judgemental;
- have good listening, questioning and written skills
