Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal - #148734

Vets for Pets

Date: 9 hours ago
City: Telford
Contract type: Part time
Job Description

Competitive salary of up to £60,000. Part time. Flexible working

We have an exciting opportunity for a part time veterinary surgeon to come and join us at Telford Vets for Pets.

Our fun and supportive team is made up of 3 experienced vets, 2 of whom have surgical certificates, and one 2023 graduate. We have four fabulous RVNs, as well as an experienced front of house team and practice manager. We’re a close-knit team and love doing things together, whether that’s a takeaway lunch on a Friday or making each other cakes on team birthdays!

Our surgery has all the usual equipment, including an in-house lab, digital x-ray, ultrasound, mono/bipolar electrocautery, a tonopen and a cryopen, as well as offering complementary therapies such as acupuncture. Typically, it’s a busy practice with lots of variety, with each vet having a mix of consults and surgery most days, although a consulting only role would be considered. We are located on Wrekin Retail Park, close to a number of shopping and food outlets, but just a short drive away from both the beautiful Shropshire countryside and the bigger towns of Shrewsbury and Birmingham.

We’re ideally looking for an experienced veterinary surgeon to work around 30 hours per week, although this is negotiable, with 1:4 Saturdays (working 9am – 5pm) and no OOH. The weekday hours can be very flexible and any working pattern could be considered.

As you would expect from the market leader in small animal veterinary care we offer excellent career development opportunities, a first-rate package and great benefits that include:

  • A competitive salary of up to £60,000 FTE depending on experience
  • 28 days Annual Leave pro rata including bank holidays.
  • Funded CPD and time off
  • Studying for certificates is encouraged.
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Paid memberships (RCVS, VDS, BVA)
  • Exclusive company discounts and rewards - including 20% off at Pets at Home, and the Vet Group.

If you share our passion for delivering outstanding pet healthcare, exceptional customer service and would like to join our team, then we would love to hear from you.
