Introduction
Our client is a corporately owned practice based in Street, Somerset, seeking a skilled and personable Small Animal Vet to join their well-established and busy team. The practice is locally owned and forms part of a network of practices in the region, delivering high standards of veterinary care in a supportive environment.
Working Hours / Rota
This role is offered full-time, with part-time hours considered. The working week includes a 1 in 4 weekend rota. There is a clear diary structure, and flexible clinical support is provided through regular team catch-ups and communication channels.
Role Description
You will provide high-quality first opinion veterinary care, managing a varied caseload that includes medicine and surgery. The role requires sole charge responsibility one day a week. Consultations are typically booked for 15 minutes, with additional time allocated for more complex cases. The role is ideal for a vet confident in a broad range of GP skills who values building strong relationships with patients and clients while working collaboratively with a settled, experienced team.
Team Size
The team comprises a small, friendly group with long tenure, including multiple experienced vets, 3 RVNs, 1 VCA, and 2 receptionists, fostering a supportive and close-knit working environment.
Practice Details
The practice is based in Street, Somerset. It boasts excellent facilities including 3 consultation rooms, a surgical theatre, cat and dog isolation wards, and a dedicated colleague office and kitchen space. The practice environment is bright, spacious, and designed to support rewarding veterinary work.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced small animal vet with strong general practice skills, comfortable with sole charge responsibilities. You should be personable and skilled at client communication, with a passion for patient care and a commitment to working effectively within a team.
