The Role: PDI Technician

Salary: £ 14.65 per hour basic + Bonus

Location: Birmingham

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 42.5 hours, 5 days out of 7 on a rota - weekend working will be required.

As a Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) Technician, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our vehicles are mechanically prepared and ready for handover - helping us to achieve our vision of being the car buyers champion!

What will you be getting up to?

  • Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs to manufacturer standards

  • Inspect vehicles and diagnose faults to meet Motorpoint’s quality benchmarks

  • Follow our PDI process, including conducting road tests, to ensure readiness for handover

  • Complete documentation accurately and support vehicle movements as needed

  • Maintain a clean, safe workspace and collaborate with colleagues across departments

  • Champion health and safety and contribute to a positive team culture

  • Carry out any other ad hoc tasks as required

What do we need from you?

  • A full UK driving licence is essential

  • A minimum Level 2 motor trade qualification

  • EV qualification is desirable – but don’t worry, we’ll support you with training if needed

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to spot issues during inspections

  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet tight deadlines

  • A team player who can also work independently

  • Motivation to meet performance goals and uphold quality standards

  • Organised and efficient in managing workload and priorities

  • Commitment to safety and maintaining a tidy workspace

  • Willingness to support other sites when needed
