SENIOR SPECIALIST NURSE BAND 7 or
TRAINEE UROLOGY NURSE SPECIALIST, ANNEX 21 PARAGRAPH 2 (i)
Permanent 30 hour per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to join the urology team to provide specialist care for patients with urological conditions. This opportunity requires urology experience with a focus on upper tract stone management and benign urological conditions. The successful candidate will be working as part of the urology specialist nurse team to develop high quality, cost effective, patient centred care across NHS Tayside. This post holder will be expected to work collaboratively across health care boundaries and be responsible for organising and managing a caseload, whilst able to contribute to a team approach. Applicants will demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development within the field of urology. This post requires vision, innovation and the ability to work across professional boundaries and a real desire to provide the highest standards of patient care. This post requires you to work as part of the wider multidisciplinary team and as an autonomous practitioner.
You should be a First Level Registered Nurse with evidence of ongoing professional development educated to at least degree level and working in a relevant speciality. You will be involved in collaborative working, therefore, strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Ability to travel is essential as the post holder will require to work across 2 sites.
You must be registered on Sub-part 1: RN1 or RNA or Sub-part 2: RN2 of the UK NMC Register
Candidates requiring further education will be supported and practice supervised to develop their competence and confidence to fulfil the duties of a Senior Specialist Nurse across the four pillars of practice for advanced practice. It is an expectation that as a trainee you will successfully achieve the required qualifications by undertaking Master’s level education including; Clinical Assessment and Non-medical prescribing within the first 18 to 24 months of appointment.
