This new leadership role sits within the Commercial and Marketing department, focussed on unlocking growth from “greenfield” market segments for both telecoms and TV. To be successful in this role, the candidate must demonstrate ability to ‘set the plan’ and “test and learn” as much as to lead the marketing activation across both Connectivity & TV.

What You’ll Do

  • Ownership to mould a brand-new area as the marketing lead: 10-100 employee small businesses that generally have no TV or telecoms holdings with Sky
  • Leveraging new products such as Dedicated Internet Access (DIA), Cloud Voice and Stream
  • Working closely with Sales Effectiveness and propositions colleagues to co-create a plan for growth targeting £50m+ of brand new revenue in the long range plan (LRP)
  • Identifying quantifiable opportunities, setting the strategy alongside working closely with our Sales teams to deliver a new Operating model
  • End-to-end breadth of opportunity sizing, test plan as well as resource implication (e.g. demand forecasts across our routes-to-market, delivery plan, business casing & creative & operational requirements)
  • Highlight the key performance indicators (KPIs) which we should be affecting in our approach
  • Build an annual plan to pull out the launches, key tests, & performance forecasts
  • Work alongside our Brand & Messaging, Marketing Operations & Insight teams to ensure our creative, data analytics & customer insight deliveries line up with the plan
  • Partner with our media agency / media partners to develop new approaches to improve cost efficiencies & drive growth
  • Support in-quarterly planning & marketing performance impacts based on comparable historic performance & future forecasting
  • Support in weekly trading meeting preparation and evaluation of performance vs. plans

What You’ll Bring

  • A proven track record of success across both Commercial as well as Marketing roles
  • Experience of delivering a ‘growth plan’ unlocking opportunity in a relatively unexplored market segment within a matrix organisation
  • Evidence of successfully operating an ‘end-to-end’ approach within a performance focussed organisation
  • Understanding of the importance of using data to build a commercial & marketing plan
  • The ability to think on your feet and be comfortable making decisions based on commercial, marketing and/or market experience in UK B2B telecoms
  • An innovative but pragmatic thinker that will think creatively and drive continuous improvement to deliver the best commercial outcomes for the business
  • Strong numeracy and commercial literacy. Ability to understand business cases and to size market opportunities as needed – backed by robust insight and data
  • Expert user of customer insight: working with and distilling multiple and disparate insights and data sources into compelling and actionable recommendations
  • Excellent communicator (both written and verbal) with ability to influence and confidently lead discussions at all levels from front line to senior management
