We are now hiring for a skilled Turner/Miller to join the workshop team in Dumfries, Scotland.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in tooling, assembly, maths, fabrication, and mechanical knowledge.

We are a well-known and respected mechanical engineering business offering design, fabrication, installation, repair and maintenance services. We are renowned for our repair and maintenance service offering, providing a range of on- and off-site services, including maintenance service programmes, fitting work around shutdown windows and quieter periods to minimise disruption to the client’s operations.
We work with clients to provide bespoke design solutions with a team of highly qualified and experienced engineers working from an extensive site, including a fabrication shop, metalwork, milling, lathe, roller and compressor equipment. Our business is approved for welding and specialises in fabricating steelwork, tanks, vessels, pipework and machinery.
Our services include engineering design and solutions, fabrication, machining, milling, turning and grinding and using computer-aided design (CAD), 2D drawing and 3D modelling. We work with clients to understand requirements and to solve problems, offering appropriate solutions

Key Responsibilities:
- Operate machinery to produce parts according to specification
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Utilise logic controllers for machine operation
- Conduct milling and turning operations.
- Assemble components accurately and efficiently
- Perform quality checks on finished products
- Maintain equipment and ensure a safe working environment
- Proficiency in using hand tools for machining tasks
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of logic controllers
- Experience with manual machines. Lathes, Milling Machines, Grinders.
- Ability to perform maths calculations for measurements and dimensions
