Location: Boston, Lincolnshire

Hours: Full Time, 40 hours per week

Working Pattern: Monday to Sunday (excluding Saturday) on a two-week rota

The Role

We are looking for an organised and commercially minded Transport Planner & Analyst to join our Transport team in Boston,


This is a key role responsible for planning and optimising delivery routes, ensuring efficient vehicle utilisation, maintaining excellent customer service levels, and supporting the continued growth of the business


Working closely with drivers, sales teams and operational departments, you will use data, planning systems and commercial awareness to maximise route profitability whilst ensuring compliance with driver hours and transport regulations


What You Will Be

  • Planning and optimising delivery routes to improve efficiency and profitability
  • Monitoring route performance, mileage and vehicle utilisation
  • Ensuring compliance with driver hours and working time regulations
  • Analysing customer delivery performance and resolving service issues
  • Making tactical route adjustments to accommodate changing customer requirements
  • Planning driver allocations and labour requirements
  • Supporting new customer onboarding by assessing route capacity and delivery requirements
  • Working closely with Sales to support business growth and route development
  • Liaising with drivers and other departments to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
  • Producing analysis and recommendations to improve route profitability and service levels
  • Supporting the implementation and development of transport systems and technology


What We Are Looking for:


  • Previous transport planning experience is essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working within a transport, logistics or distribution environment.
  • Good customer service skills and commercial awareness.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • CPC qualification would be advantageous.
  • Category C (Cat C) driving licence would be advantageous, but is not essential.
