Hazlewoods is one of the largest independent accountancy firms in the Southwest, with offices across Cheltenham, Cardiff and Bristol.
Due to continued growth, our Financial Planning team, based in Staverton, is looking to recruit a Trainee Financial Adviser. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in financial planning.
We are looking for a graduate from any degree subject, keen to pursue financial planning as a career.
Key Responsibilities:
Initially, the role will be more administration- focused, including:
Supporting the team with day-to-day client administration
Gathering and organising client information
Learning internal systems, processes, and how we deliver financial advice
Assisting with client communications and provider interactions.
As your knowledge and experience grow, you will:
Start to support more technical work, including research and analysis
Work more closely with advisers on preparing recommendations
Develop an understanding of clients’ financial situations, goals, and attitude to risk
Liaise with providers and build an understanding of the wider marketplace.
Over time, you will:
Take a more active role in client meetings
Support the delivery of advice and recommendations
Build relationships with clients and help identify new opportunities
Continue developing your technical knowledge and skills, with a view to progressing into an adviser role.
The Person
Interested in building a career in financial planning
Enjoys working with people and being part of a team
Good communicator with strong interpersonal skills
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Organised with good attention to detail
Comfortable using IT systems and learning new tools
Proactive and willing to take initiative
Previous office or client-facing experience would be helpful, but not essential.
We will support you with full training and in time, the relevant qualifications to develop your career in this field.
