We are seeking a proactive and reliable Technician to support our dynamic Hair & Beauty curriculum area. This is a key role in ensuring our salons and learning environments operate smoothly, safely, and effectively, helping to deliver an outstanding experience for our students and clients.
Working closely with teaching staff and the Group Head Technician, you will provide specialist technical support, maintain equipment and resources, and contribute to the overall learner journey. You will also play an important part in promoting the department and supporting student recruitment activities.
This is a term-role for 38 weeks per year
Actual Salary for 22.5 hours and 38 weeks:
(£13,970.68- £14,356.16 Per annum - Pro rata of £24,826- £25,511 per annum)
Key Responsibilities
- Support curriculum delivery by preparing and maintaining salon resources, equipment, and materials
- Carry out routine maintenance, stock control, and purchasing of supplies to ensure smooth departmental operations
- Conduct safety checks and ensure compliance with health and safety procedures
- Assist with student-facing salon activities, ensuring a professional and customer-focused environment
- Support marketing and recruitment events such as open days and school visits
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure all sessions are fully resourced and run efficiently
- Maintain accurate records and undertake administrative duties relating to stock and equipment
- Contribute to safeguarding, supporting student wellbeing and a positive learning environment
Essential Criteria
- Good standard of education including Maths and English at Level 2 (GCSE grade 4/C or above)
- Experience working in a salon or commercial customer-facing environment
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage tasks independently
- Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Commitment to high standards of customer service and student support
