Where Does This Role Fit In?

The Technical Manager works within the Development Team, reporting directly to the Head of Design & Placemaking. You'll collaborate closely with Project Managers, providing technical expertise from the pre-planning stages through to project completion. Your role is pivotal in ensuring our developments not only meet but exceed industry standards, reinforcing Pobl Group's reputation as a leader in well-designed, sustainable housing.

What skills and experience do you need?

To excel in this role, you must have a solid background in engineering and construction, with a demonstrated understanding of technical processes and industry standards. Experience in Section agreements and SAB agreements is crucial, as is the ability to analyse complex information and make informed decisions. You should have a proven track record of developing and maintaining strong relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders, which will enable you to effectively coordinate and lead technical initiatives.

A proactive approach to problem-solving is essential, as is the ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment. You should either hold a BSc (Hons) or equivalent degree in a construction-related discipline or have demonstrable experience in a similar role. A Full driving license with access to your own vehicle is essential

Experience with RSL projects and large mixed-tenure residential schemes, along with proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit, would be highly advantageous. Additionally, an understanding of the Welsh Government’s grant regime and Design Quality Requirements would further support your success in this role.

What are the pay and benefits?

  • £60,291 for a 37 hour, full time, permanent position
  • Flexible working policies – this role would be both home and office based with regular time spent out on site across South Wales. Our head office is Newport, Cardiff or Swansea.
  • Option to work compressed hours of a 9 day fortnight (usually a Friday)
