About The Role

CALA Homes (North Home Counties) Ltd are looking for a Technical Manager to supplement the team. You will work closely with the Head of Technical & Engineering Manager to ensure a smooth handover from the land/planning appraisal process, managing the detailed design and all other Technical aspects of development from this point on. You will also manage the workload of other members of the Technical department to ensure that the Company’s procedures are being met. Further to this, you will liaise with appointed consultants to discharge NHBC Building Control conditions, attend planning consultation events and arrange pre-start drawing check meetings with internal departments to arrange for any revisions to be made to the working drawing packs as necessary.

About You

A background in either Architecture or Design Engineering is an essential pre-requisite, and candidates must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding on the technical details of residential construction. You will have experience of leading both internal teams of Architects and Engineers, as well as external consultants to deliver a continuous supply of technical information. You will be self-motivated, dedicated, and hard-working as well as a strategic thinker, strong decision maker and an excellent ambassador of the company. As this is a varied and deadline driven position, you must be reliable and flexible and able to act on your own initiative. You should be self-motivated and pro-active in your approach to your work. You must have demonstrable planning and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
