This is a very exciting opportunity for an experienced, qualified and highly skilled HLTA practitioner to help create a brand new specialist team within Together for Children’s Specialist Education Service.
We are seeking to recruit an outstanding practitioner who is experienced delivering truly person-centred learning to pupils with Autism and / or Social and Emotional Mental Health needs, including trauma. The successful candidate must have a proven track record in contributing to person-centred bespoke learning for pupils with complex special education needs and disabilities (SEND), who are unable to access traditional formal education settings. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of an experienced and dedicated service which incorporates a wide range of multi-disciplinary practitioners. The newly created Bespoke Education Team will form part of the broader Specialist SEND Service and have a focus on providing high quality bespoke education packages to children and young people with complex SEND. The core Bespoke Education team will consist of 2 Specialist Teacher roles and 2 HLTAs. However, as a member of this team, you will be able to draw upon the broader expertise of the Specialist SEND Service, which includes Autism Outreach, Language and Learning, Portage, The Children’s Sensory Impairment Team and Educational Occupational Therapy. The successful candidate will also help to develop strong links to other services, including Virtual School, IPBS, Children with Disabilities Team, therapy teams, CAMHs and CYPs.
Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the direct delivery of bespoke education packages for children and young people with EHCPs who are accessing EOTAS packages. They will also work with the Statutory SEND Team and a range of Alternative Providers / tuition services to support the development of personalised programmes of learning tailored to the needs of individual children and young people as outlined in their EHCP. The role may also include contributing to the delivery of training to broader stakeholders in line with areas of specialist expertise.
The Specialist Support Service safeguards and protects its pupils and staff by being committed to respond in accordance with the Together for Children’s Safeguarding Policies.
Visa sponsorship: We welcome applications from all nationalities; however, successful candidates must, by the commencement of employment, have the right to work in the UK”.
