Summary of Role:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Tax Manager to join our in-house tax team. This pivotal role involves managing and delivering corporate tax and VAT compliance, tax reporting, and supporting the Head of Tax on broader tax risk and governance matters.


We are happy to consider candidates further afield than Norfolk however there will be an expectation to travel to Diss, with over night stays when required.



Key Responsibilities:


Corporate Tax Compliance:

Lead the preparation and submission of UK and Australian corporation tax returns for all group entities (c50 companies). To include overseeing the preparation of capital allowance claims.

VAT Compliance:

Oversee preparation and submission of UK and Australian VAT returns and related reporting.

International Tax Compliance:

Lead the preparation of various international related returns and reporting obligations, such as Country by Country Report and Withholding Tax Returns, and supporting with Transfer Pricing documentation and risk assessment.

Tax Accounting and Reporting:

Deliver accurate tax provisioning and disclosures under IFRS / FRS101 for quarterly and annual financial statements. Oversee preparation of quarterly tax liability calculations for QIP purposes, and reconciliations to accounting records.

Governance and Risk Management:

Responsibility for ensuring the Group maintains compliance with UK & Australia tax legislation. To include supporting the Head of Tax with tax risk assessments, group's tax strategy, establishing policies, and managing tax queries. Also responsible for driving process improvements and efficiencies in tax compliance and reporting.

Team Leadership:

Manage and develop a team of tax professionals. Provide technical guidance, training, and performance oversight to both tax team and wider finance team.

Other:

  • Support Head of Tax with delivery of various tax projects, reliefs and claims (eg. RDEC, M&A transactions).
  • Liaise with the UK & Australian authorities, Auditors etc.
  • Work collaboratively with the broader finance, legal, acquisitions and operations teams on various projects or business initiatives to provide input on tax implications.



Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • CTA qualified or equivalent
  • Proven experience as a Tax Manager or in a similar tax advisory role
  • Experience preparing tax disclosures under IFRS/FRS101
  • Good Excel skills & competent dealing with large datasets
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex tax matters clearly to stakeholders
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving tax issues

Desirable Skills, but not necessary:

  • Previous experience working in an in-house tax role in an industry setting.
  • Exposure to international tax matters or working within a multinational group
  • Experience using Alpha Tax
