The Whittan Group is the largest manufacturer of steel storage products in the United Kingdom. Operating through a number of market leading brands; we design, manufacture and install storage solutions for commercial and industrial environments in the UK and Europe.

We are looking for a Structural Engineer to join our busy and growing organisation. As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality structural solutions across concept and detailed design stages. You'll work closely with our Sales and Design teams, ensuring the structural integrity and compliance of our cold-formed steel structures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery of concept and detailed structural schemes to Sales and Design.
  • Calculations of cold-formed steel structures to prevailing standards (EN codes and storage industry standards).
  • Ability to explain calculations.
  • Involvement in product tests & interpretation of results.
  • Develop software to standardise calculation processes.

Required Experience/skills/qualifications

  • Graduate with MEng/BEng/BSc or equivalent in Structural or Civil Engineering.
  • Structural design experience.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of steelwork design codes.
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work well within a team

Desirable

  • Experience with thin gauge steel.
  • Experience within the storage industry.
  • Proficient user of CAD
