British-born, today we have 15 stores across the UK – an established Interior Design and Trade business, a mail-order service and a thriving website.


We are currently looking to recruit a Store Manager (40 hours) based at our beautiful Harrogate Store in scenic North Yorkshire, a convenient drive from Leeds and York. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, OKA Harrogate offers customers the chance to view our outdoor range as well as seasonal room sets that display most of our interiors collection, styled in inspirational ways.


The Store Manager is a key leadership role within OKA’s retail business. You will be responsible for driving commercial success, maintaining exceptional operational standards, and ensuring that the store reflects our premium brand at every touchpoint. You will lead a passionate team to deliver an outstanding customer experience that inspires confidence in our products and service whether customers are furnishing an entire home or seeking the perfect finishing touch.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Store Operations:

  • Oversee all daily store operations, ensuring high standards in visual merchandising, stock presentation, and store maintenance.
  • Manage stock flow, delivery intake, inventory control, and product availability.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and health & safety regulations.

Customer Experience:

  • Lead the team in delivering exceptional, personalised customer service aligned with OKA values
  • Build relationships with local clientele and encourage repeat business through effective clienteling.
  • Manage customer enquiries and resolve any issues to maintain positive brand experience.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Recruit, develop, and retain a passionate retail team.
  • Provide coaching, training, and regular feedback to foster personal and professional growth.
  • Cultivate a positive and collaborative team culture aligned with OKA’s values.

Sales & Commercial Focus:

  • Achieve or exceed sales targets and KPIs through effective team leadership and sales initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyse outlet store performance, making data-driven decisions to maximise profitability.
  • Manage budgets, expenses, and stock shrinkage.

ABOUT YOU

  • Experienced retail manager with a successful track record in premium, design-led, or lifestyle retail.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, develop, and manage a team.
  • Commercially savvy, with a focus on driving sales and managing budgets.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge or passion for interiors and homewares a plus.
  • Flexible and adaptable, comfortable working weekends and busy periods.
