We are seeking an Stock Controller to join our team and play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate inventory records, compliance with SOX regulations, and seamless collaboration with vendors and partners. This position offers the chance to make a significant impact on our operations while working with a dedicated and supportive team.
This is an office based role, but can be based in Stafford, Walden or London.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Control & SOX Compliance
- Oversee and maintain accurate stock records in alignment with SOX controls and internal inventory policies for 3PL and ADM-owned warehouses.
- Manage inventory adjustment processes, performing root cause analysis, and ensuring proper documentation and approval.
- Implement internal controls and audit trails across all inventory movements.
Vendor & 3PL Relationship Management
- Act as the primary liaison for vendors and 3PL/ADM partners on inventory control matters.
- Coordinate logistics providers to ensure accurate data flows and timely reporting.
- Track and resolve discrepancies in inventory balances, SLA breaches, and other issues.
Inventory Reconciliations & Adjustments
- Perform and oversee monthly reconciliations of system inventory for 3PL and ADM site locations.
- Conduct periodic physical counts and manage system inventory reporting and adjustments.
- Post and document stock adjustments in compliance with policy and SOX guidelines.
- Investigate and correct inventory discrepancies across all locations.
Physical Inventory Counts
- Lead annual physical inventory and periodic cycle counts at all warehouses and partner sites.
- Prepare inventory count plans, documentation, variance analysis, and reporting.
- Ensure completeness and traceability for all count-related adjustments.
Audit Support & Transaction Traceability
- Support internal and external audits by providing transaction-level documentation and historical data.
- Ensure traceability of all stock transactions and compliance with audit requirements.
- Maintain and implement files for rapid audit response.
Aged Inventory Monitoring & Follow-Up
- Monitor inventory aging and identify obsolete or slow-moving stock.
- Coordinate with QC, Procurement, Finance, and Commercial teams on clearance, repurposing, or write-off decisions.
- Report on inventory aging and actions taken to support working capital targets.
I-Cargo Upload
- Upload and maintain cargo inventory records in the I-Cargo system to ensure accurate inventory reporting.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in inventory control, compliance, or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of SOX regulations and internal control processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems (e.g., I-Cargo) and reporting tools.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and partners.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
