What You Will Do
- Following an highly regulated end to end sterilization/decontamination process on surgical instruments that have been used in operations in local NHS and private hospitals, to ensure they can be used again safely for the next patient.
- Ensuring the effective preparation of sterile consumables (dressings, linen, surgical instruments, and equipment) by the process of decontamination, inspection assembly and packing within predefined quality standards.
- Rigorously checking, washing, laying up and packing sets of theatre instruments to meet contract specifications within predefined quality standards.
- Safely operating and monitoring machines and equipment (washer/disinfectors, ultrasonic and sterilisers) effectively.
- Ensuring that repairs and missing instruments or equipment are recorded and logged on the Tracking and Traceability computer system (SynergyTrak).
- Ensuring that repaired instruments or equipment are returned to stock or the appropriate coded sets or the Trust’s appointed person.
12 weeks training Monday - Friday.

Required Experience
- Educated to a good general standard with demonstrable verbal and numerical abilities.
- Basic end user IT skills to operate track and traceability IT system.
