The shift pattern is Monday-Friday 08.30-16.30.

The post holder will be expected to provide advanced physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge of own patient workload in Mental Health covering the Mental Health wards in Stobhill hospital. You will work closely with other disciplines and the Multi Disciplinary Team (MDT) to provide an efficient pathway of care, including discharge follow up, when required. Be accountable to the Highly Specialist physiotherapist or Physiotherapy Manager on each area of speciality and carry out work as designated by them and to deputise for them to ensure continuity of Service delivery. Be expected to take an active role in supervision and assist in training of less experienced physiotherapists, technical instructors, therapy assistant practitioners and students as required whilst undertaking audit and research within the organisation.

The Mental Health Physiotherapy service exists to deliver high quality care to patients admitted to Mental health wards in Stobhill hospital. The key responsibilities of the service are to provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment to a diverse range of conditions and patient types in the inpatient services covering both adult and elderly population, PICU and those with enduring mental health problems in continuing care environments.

All staff within the Physiotherapy Service must comply with NHSGG&C and Departmental Policies in addition to complying with Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Quality Assurance Standards and Code of Professional Values and Behaviour.

You must have a degree in Physiotherapy leading to HCPC registration with Current HCPC registration. 2 years experience in a range of in and out-patient clinical specialties. Relevant post graduate training regular in-service training and post graduate courses e.g Normal movement, management of respiratory conditions, musculo-skeletal joint assessment/management.
