Job Overview
THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 12 MONTHS DUE TO MATERNITY COVER.

We are delighted to offer an exciting post with the BCUHB East rehabilitation service. This multi-disciplinary team works closely with patients that have been recently diagnosed with cancer to help prepare them physically and mentally for their treatment and recovery.
You will need experience of working in group settings and have experience with physical and mental health conditions.
This post is to cover maternity leave for 12 months so is ideal for band 5 occupational therapists that want to transition into band 6 roles.
We provide a job plan that balances a varied caseload of patients with personal development opportunities. These include involvement in research, clinical leadership, supervision and education.
It is desirable that candidates have an interest in personal and service development.
As an organisation, we are known for supporting personal development, post-graduate education, including MSc level courses.
Main duties of the job
To support leadership and work within the Occupational Therapy team, providing an effective and evidence-based service through assessing, planning and implementing treatment programmes.
To deliver therapeutic intervention, acting as a specialist occupational therapist by using the principles of Occupational Therapy in an integrated and client-centred way.
To assume responsibility for personal development and supporting the development and supervision of others by CPD (continuing professional development), linked to appraisal.
To support evaluation and service development in the clinical area in line with national and local drivers.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
