Specialist Biomedical Scientist - Haematology & Coagulation Dept - #35326

The Haematology and Coagulation Department at the University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS) are delighted to be able to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Friendly, enthusiastic individual to join our fabulous team.

You will be required to work 35 hours a week. You should have an IBMS specialist portfolio (or equivalent) showing specialist knowledge and competence of both Haematology and Haemostasis.

The department is UKAS accredited and an approved IBMS training laboratory with strong links with Southampton University.

Job Summary:

1. Undertake processing of pathological specimens for screening, diagnostic and monitoring purposes.
2. Provide accurate, timely and appropriate analytical data/results.
3. Deliver a high-quality service that meets the needs of the patients and service users.
4. Communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals to support excellent patient care.
5. Assist with quality management system tasks for compliance with regulatory and/or accrediting
bodies
6. Deliver training and education within the specialist section.
7. Maintain a high standard of professional competence in the performance of all tests and investigations carried out in the Haematology and Coagulation Laboratory.

The role will primarily be Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
There is the possibility the role will require some weekend working in the future.
