An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Sister/ Charge Nurse to support the Ward Managers and team of nursing staff within the Acute Medicine Unit at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. This comprises of an Acute Assessment Unit (AAU))/Enhanced Care/Acute Medical Unit (AMU).
This is 12 month secondment to cover Maternity Leave. The candidate will require extensive post registration experience.
You will be an experienced RGN and be able to lead and supervise the work of the nursing team, building upon your own clinical and managerial experience.
The successful candidate must have a proven ability in supervising, managing and controlling the activities of a department in an efficient and effective manner. This will involve the assessment and implementation of appropriate care for new and current patients whilst ensuring adequate staffing levels are maintained and resources used appropriately.
You must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will have a proactive management style, anticipating and dealing with issues constructively within the multidisciplinary team setting. You must be flexible in your approach to the role and respond appropriately to the demands of an ever-changing workload.
