Projects Operations Manager

In this role you will leads the execution of medium-size and/or complex to large projects for ABB’s Motion Division and ensures that all related activities are performed in accordance with ABB policy, relevant cybersecurity regulations and standards, contractual agreements, quality standards, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements, financial targets, and schedule commitments. Supports (when required) the local management in overseeing team development and process improvement to continually increase the effectiveness of project execution, especially in smaller units. Takes accountability for a portfolio of projects.

Your Role And Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.
Work model: Homebased with travel to Daresbury and Coalville
- Leads project teams by setting direction, allocating tasks, and motivating internal and external resources to achieve milestones.
- Provides oversight and performance feedback for all project resources.
- Develops and manages project plans, including scope, schedules, financials, and risk management.
- Ensures projects follow best practices and ABB policies while monitoring progress, resource utilisation, and overall performance.
- Manages project financials, including invoicing, costs, expenses, and cash flow.
- Identifies and manages risks and opportunities, attends key client meetings and FATs, and captures lessons learned.
- Oversees contract, claims, procurement, and project close-out, ensuring customer acceptance and compliance with agreements.
- Acts as the main customer contact, maintaining stakeholder relationships and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Electrical Engineering Qualification or significant industry experience, preferably with a knowledge of Motors and Variable Speed Drives.
- 10 years of Project Management Experience
- Project Manager Certification
- Microsoft Project and Excel proficiency; SAP skills would be a plus
- Team building skills and established Project Team leadership experience
- Autonomous leadership and ability to prioritize
- Independent self-starter
- English fluency required
