About us


Every Local Authority in Wales is required to hold a local land charges register that records obligations affecting properties within their administrative area. HM Land Registry is working in partnership with Local Authorities to standardise and migrate local land charges register information to one accessible place. As part of this project there are a number of heritage designations that are considered local land charges. The key output of this role is to ensure that all the relevant heritage assets which are considered local land charges e.g. Listed Buildings, Curtilage Listed Buildings, Conservation Areas and Article 4 directions, within the Councils administrative boundary are standardised and in a format for migration as required.

We are looking for a hard-working and committed professional with a strong background and interest in Heritage/Conservation planning matters to fulfil this role on a temporary and flexible basis.


About the role


Pay Details: Grade 9 - £39,186 - £43,421 (pro-rata) Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 3 days per week (up to 20/12/2024) Main Place of Work: Dock Office/Hybrid Working Temporary Reason: Project work



About you
You will need:
  • Working knowledge of the planning system.
  • Knowledge of historic buildings, conservation and urban design issues.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work to agreed deadlines and under pressure.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability to deal with a wide and varied workload relating to historic buildings, conservation areas and issues of urban design.
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline.
  • A commitment to high levels of customer service.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Commitment to good quality outcomes from the development control process.
  • Ability to deal with people in potentially difficult circumstances
  • Ability to drive/travel throughout the Vale or between locations as appropriate. Computer literate and able to use a pc for letters and reports
