Background and purpose of role:

This role is an integral part of the Marketing team at Charles Stanley, where you will help to plan, implement, and report on events and marketing initiatives with the aim of engaging existing clients and attracting new ones.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Take responsibility for the planning, budgeting, and execution of allocated events both in-person and virtual.
  • Writing and editing of copy to support events and other marketing initiatives, including invitations, letters, social media posts, editorial and reports.
  • Ownership of segment specific events delivery.
  • Manage marketing budgets and day-to-day marketing activities for divisions / departments as required.
  • Work with the wider marketing team to support on the delivery of marketing materials, campaigns, communications, and projects.
  • Attend events, occasionally outside of normal working hours where required, helping to set-up and take-down, coordinate the logistics agency, welcome guests, and ensure the smooth running of the event.
  • Utilise data, initiative, and creative thinking to identify opportunities and present new ideas for marketing events, sponsorships, and campaigns.
  • Follow procedures to produce a comprehensive post-event report for all events within remit and other marketing activity as appropriate.
  • Maintain brand consistency – both in terms of design and tone of voice - across all forms of communication.
  • Maintain efficient mechanisms for version control and the regulatory and legal compliance of content.
  • The reporting and measurement of big, allocated events.
  • Work closely with the Strategy and Client Marketing team, responding to briefs and supporting on the development of marketing plans.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Educated to degree or equivalent level in marketing, events or another related field.
  • At least 3 years’ marketing and events experience preferably gained in a Financial Services organisation.
  • Experience of running webinars via Zoom, Teams, WebEx etc.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Event management: Proven experience project managing and organising events from concept and planning through to execution and review.
  • Copy-writing: Strong copy-writing and proofing skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Organisation: Must be able to multi-task, manage and prioritise projects effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Autonomy: Able to work independently and use initiative.
  • People and technical skills: Must have excellent communication skills and be comfortable working with individuals at all levels across the group as well as external clients and prospects.
  • Commercially minded: Must have the intellectual capacity to learn and understand Charles Stanley’s wide range of products and services, our competitors and our target market and be able to translate such understanding into meaningful marketing initiatives.
  • Flexibility: The Marketing department is very much a ‘team’ environment and therefore there may be opportunities for the individual to take part in other marketing-related activity. The individual will be prepared to work with Marketing colleagues and assist, where reasonable, to achieve successful outcomes for the department and the business.
