Role Overview

IN4 Group is seeking a highly experienced and passionate Senior Lead Instructor to spearhead our new initiative for the creative industries called ‘The Creative Engine’ .

The Creative Engine proposition is a turnkey solution for the creative industries which involves upskilling talent, working on innovative industry projects and creating employment opportunities for learners through a studio model.

This pivotal role will be responsible for designing curriculums and cutting-edge training materials, delivering expert-level instruction, designing cutting-edge training materials, and leading client projects. The role will focus on key technologies utilised in the Creative Industries such as Unreal Engine, Unity, Virtual Production, Motion Capture, AI, Maya, Blender and more.

The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert particularly in Unreal Engine and how it is applied to the creative industries. They will be curious and constantly keeping up to date with newest creative technologies trends (GenAI, Gaussian Splats, etc), and make proposals for how we integrate them into the delivery of our proposition.

As a Lead Instructor, you will contribute to IN4 Group's mission of ensuring fair access to technology futures for all by creating inclusive and impactful learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Instruction and Delivery: Deliver engaging and effective training sessions on game engine technologies, particularly Unreal Engine and its application to the Creative Industries’ diverse audience.
  • Curriculum and Content Development: Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, up-to-date training materials, including presentations, hands-on labs, exercises, and assessments, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
  • Client Project Leadership: Lead and contribute to the creation and delivery of client projects through talent upskilling programmes. This means interacting with the client and ensuring the project is properly aligned to the curriculum and is producing the best possible outcome for both the client and the learners. Where necessary this may also include searching for client projects that will best fit the curriculum in question.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Maintain a deep and current understanding of game engine technologies and related creative industries technologies and trends such as Virtual Production, Motion Capture, Maya, Blender, Gaussian Splats, Gen AI, animation and VFX pipelines , staying abreast of the latest features, updates, best practices and applications to the creative industries.
  • Qualification Advocacy: Develop a qualifications pathway, promote and support learners in achieving them, leveraging your authorised instructor status and knowledge of the certification pathways.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and consistency of training delivery and materials across all Creative Engine offerings (upskilling programmes, industry projects, studio projects)
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with the Skills City leadership team, other instructors, and client stakeholders to ensure training programmes meet the needs of learners and clients.
  • Continuous Improvement: Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of training programmes and materials, incorporating feedback and new methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
  • Mentorship and Guidance: Mentor and provide guidance to junior instructors or learning facilitators within the Creative Engine division.
  • Learner Employment: Support with creation of employment opportunities both through the studio model and through promoting our learners to potential employers. Mentor learners while they are engaging in both securing the employment and also getting onboarded on that employment
  • Community Engagement: Represent Skills City and IN4 Group at industry events and within the Creative Industries, showcasing our offering and promoting opportunities to collaborate

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in technical training on Game Engine technologies, particularly Unreal Engine.
  • Must hold one of the authorised trainer status, Unreal Authorized Instructor (preferable), Unity Certified Instructor, CompTIA Certified Technical Trainer, or an equivalent to demonstrate instructional skills through an approved program.
  • Proficient in English language and able to explain and teach concepts to a variety of knowledge levels – from total beginners to more advanced. Able to adapt training style to learner need.
  • Experience in designing and developing technical training materials and curricula.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to client-facing projects, particularly those involving technology upskilling.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire learners.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • A passion for technology and a commitment to continuous learning.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with Creative Industries related technologies and software: Other Game Engines (Unity, Godot) Virtual Production, Motion Capture, Gen AI, Maya, Blender, Gaussian Splats, Volumetric Capture, Experience with virtual training delivery platforms and methodologies.
  • Understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • Experience in a similar role within a training or education organisation.
