Life on the team

We are looking for a Senior Graphic Designer on a 12month fixed term contract based in our Global head office in Hatfield.

If you’ve set your heart on a career in Design, why not join Computacenter in their Creative Services department as a Senior Graphic Designer. Based at our headquarters in Hatfield, you’ll find there’s everything in place for you to realise your ambitions. We’ve become a leading independent provider of IT infrastructure services by being open, upfront and straightforward. So, you’ll know exactly what’s expected of you, managers will be accessible when you need training and support, your voice will be heard, and we’ll take a genuine interest in how you want to develop.

Our Mission & Responsibilities: Through compelling content, campaigns and communications, the goal is to inspire and engage the target audience of our customers and our people - and importantly ensure everything created is on brand.

What you’ll do

You will be part of the Creative Services team of designers, who work closely with internal teams to establish their needs and expectations and then conceptualise and deliver design solutions that meet requirements. You will play a lead role on a variety of projects including:

  • Providing dedicated graphic design support to the internal business as well as supporting our top strategic customer campaigns with bespoke customer messaging and positioning.
  • Providing a high-level consultancy role to business units – bringing creativity and innovation to problem solving and communicating a variety of messages.
  • Acting as a custodian of our corporate brand, ensuring work reflects the established brand guidelines correctly and advising the business on how the brand can be used.
  • Being responsible for your own work schedule, ensuring briefs are taken and projects are delivered on time to high standards.
  • Establishing close working relationships with internal teams to understand the challenges and objectives for individual projects.
  • Advising internal customers on what is technically possible including the range and scope of the work and realistic timescales.
  • Supporting the business by converting complex solutions and messaging into impactful, clearly articulated visual assets.

What you’ll need

  • 5 years of relevant professional experience
  • Proven graphic design and communications experience working within a challenging commercial environment – preferably with a portfolio of recent work
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator – as well as strong PowerPoint skills. Multi-media skills would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Enthusiasm to learn and embrace new skills – the successful candidate will be expected to work across a variety of media so training to expand capabilities will be expected.
  • Creativity and excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Attentive to details and deadlines; ability to manage multiple initiatives
  • Excellent project management skills, including planning and organisational skills
  • A strong ability to take a design brief and translate requirements into design
  • Ability to work to brand guidelines
