Procurement is undergoing an exciting transformation journey, deploying best in class processes, ensuring an innovative, reliable and cost-efficient supply chain that can grow with us to support delivery of the overall M Group Strategy. The Senior Category Manager is a new role in the team.
This is a hybrid role, with travel to Stevenage required 2-4 times a month and travel to meet stakeholders and suppliers as required

What will you be doing?
Join us as a passionate champion of subcontractor procurement, where you’ll lead the development and delivery of our subcontract category plan—driving long-term value and building strategic supply chain partnerships across divisions. You’ll harness data insight and market knowledge to influence decision making, shape commercial outcomes, and unlock cost efficiencies. From refining procurement practices and tools to embedding ESG principles and supplier innovation, you’ll be at the heart of our transformation journey. As a confident collaborator and people leader, you'll manage supplier relationships and guide your team to exceed ambitious targets. Help make M Group the subcontractor’s partner of choice.
What You’ll Bring
- Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in procurement and/or commercial roles
- Experience with subcontract supply chain within infrastructure services
- Strong commercial mindset and analytical skills
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful category strategies & sourcing practices
- Ability to build relationships across a large stakeholder base, influence and act as an expert across the organisation up to executive level
- Strong leadership skills and prior experience of leading cross-functional or virtual teams
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills, able to obtain consensus around credible, executable solutions
- Experience with complex NEC4 contracting practices
