This role requires strong knowledge of banking systems, data integration, and regulatory frameworks. You will work closely with business, technology, and compliance teams to gather requirements, define technical specifications, and support solution delivery across core banking, digital channels, and related platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse business and regulatory requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications for banking systems and integrations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across retail, commercial, and digital banking functions to understand business processes, data flows, and system interactions.
- Provide subject matter expertise across banking domains such as payments, cards, lending, core banking, regulatory compliance (including PSD2, AML/KYC), and digital banking journeys.
- Work with IBM product and technology teams to ensure solutions align with industry best practices and regulatory obligations.
- Support impact assessments for regulatory changes, new product deployments, and system enhancements.
- Perform gap analyses between current and target states for banking systems or processes.
- Partner with architects and development teams to define solution approaches and technical requirements.
- Support the creation of data models, system mappings, and integration specifications.
- Review technical designs to ensure they align with business goals and regulatory expectations.
- Use SQL or advanced data analysis techniques to validate requirements, analyse data issues, and support testing (preferred for IBM banking projects).
- Support testing and validation activities to ensure solutions meet business needs, regulatory expectations.

- Experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst in banking or financial services.
- Strong understanding of banking processes, digital channels, and data integration concepts.
- Knowledge of banking products and processes including account management, payments, lending, and treasury operations.
- Experience with regulatory and compliance requirements impacting banking technology (AML, KYC, PCI-DSS, SOX, data privacy regulations).
- Hands-on experience with Agile delivery, JIRA, Confluence, and process modelling tools (Visio, BPMN, Lucidchart).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail; SQL or data analysis experience preferred.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and documentation capabilities.
Preferred Technical And Professional Experience
- Experience using business analysis and documentation tools commonly applied in financial services projects (such as Lucidchart, Visio, and JIRA).
- Strong familiarity with Agile methodologies and the Scrum framework, particularly within financial services delivery environments.
- Solid understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) as it applies to banking and financial technology solutions.
- Experience in data analysis and reporting, with the ability to interpret and validate data relevant to financial services processes.
- A strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development, especially in evolving financial services technologies, regulations, and delivery practices.
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) – IIBA
- Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA) – IIBA
- Entry Certificate in Business Analysis (ECBA) – IIBA
- Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) – PMI
- Agile Business Analyst (AgileBA)
- Scrum Master or Product Owner certifications (CSM, PSM, CSPO, PSPO)
- TOGAF Foundation (beneficial for architecture‑aligned roles)
- ITIL Foundation (helpful for service‑oriented financial environments)
