Senior Business Administrator - #35274

East Sussex County Council

Date: 1 week ago
City: Hailsham
Contract type: Full time

Do you have experience as an administrator? This role could be for you!

“We judge children on their best days, not their worst.”

Lansdowne Secure Children's home is reopening, and we are looking for a Senior Business Administrator to join our admin team, which is part of our Support Services function. Working in a secure children’s home is fast paced, varied and interesting. As a Senior Business Administrator, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including updating databases, following and optimising processes, arranging team meetings and activities, making online purchases on behalf of the home, creating and running monthly reports for management, dealing with petty cash, and minuting meetings.

The role involves an element of reception and admin office cover, as well as working with the care team in the staff offices within the residential areas. It also involves dealing with professionals at the forefront of our service daily; you will meet and interact with variety of stakeholders including care staff, resident young people, managers, other support service staff, and internal and external professionals (such as social workers).

The successful candidate will be organised, have a keen eye for detail and be enthusiastic about proactively and responsively supporting the wider Lansdowne team’s administrative needs. There are also opportunities for project work at an individual and team level, for example, a key goal for Lansdowne is transitioning to a fully electronic record keeping system, phasing out paper logging and recording.

This is a genuine opportunity to make a difference personally as well as part of the wider Lansdowne Team. Support Services plays an important role supporting the care team to deliver the service efficiently and effectively. You may or may not be aware that in addition to the residential aspect of the home and supporting care team, we also have our own on-site school and teaching staff, as well as having integrated onsite NHS staff providing healthcare.

To apply for this role please follow the ‘Apply Now’ button above. When completing your application be sure to address how you meet all the criteria in the person specification drawing on any relevant work/life experience, education or personal interests.

Interviews will take place face to face on Monday 11 December.
