Are you a recent graduate in the field of psychology and looking for your next career step?

Join our team as an SEN Teaching Assistant. You will work closely with students with special educational needs, providing tailored support to help them overcome barriers to learning and thrive in the classroom. This is an excellent opportunity for a Psychology Graduate to gain valuable hands-on experience working with children and young people while applying their knowledge of psychology in an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Assist classroom teachers in planning and delivering differentiated lessons to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO and other members of the SEN team to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and parents/guardians.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel supported and valued.

Requirements

  • A degree in Psychology or a related field is essential.
  • Passion for supporting the learning and development of children and young people with special educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience in working with students who may have complex needs.
  • Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEN, is desirable but not essential.
