Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant - #189856

A supportive secondary school in Torquay are on the look out for SEN Learning Support Assistants to work with their KS3 students. The role will be a mix of supporting students who have SEN/SEMH needs and general teaching assistant support.

They are looking for someone who is nurturing and can be a positive role model for behaviour within the school. You would be working closely with the SENCO throughout.

The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant should:

• Have experience working with children with SEN, or a genuine passion for this
• Be flexible, proactive and patient
• Be able to communicate effectively within a team
• Be resilient, passionate and driven to go above and beyond for children of all needs
• Be open to providing personal care
• Have a Background in Education, Care, Psychology or Drama, as these are very transferable.
• Training or experience in non-verbal communication is preferred, but a willingness to learn is essential. For example Makaton, PECS
