The Role

IVS is looking to recruit a dynamic and experienced Sales Manager who can work effectively as part of an experienced and focused sales team. This senior role is pivotal in driving sales performance, managing the sales team and external reps, and working closely with engineering and marketing to deliver compelling solutions to our customers under the guidance of the Sales & Marketing Director.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the internal sales team and external sales representatives to achieve defined quarterly and annual revenue targets.
  • Oversee inbound and warm leads generated through marketing, ensuring timely qualification and follow-up.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to develop detailed technical proposals and compelling sales presentations.
  • Drive proactive outreach to potential customers across multiple channels (calls, email, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Build and maintain existing accounts of our global customer base.
  • Engage with prospects across different sectors and geographies, understanding their challenges and effectively communicating the value our products can provide.
  • Qualify leads and assess their suitability for our products or services.
  • Carry out meetings or demos with qualified prospects.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of leads and interactions in Salesforce.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to align lead-generation efforts.
  • Continuously update your knowledge of our products and industry trends.
  • Provide feedback to improve lead generation and qualification processes.
  • Assist in the development of sales scripts and outreach strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of sales collateral and materials.
  • Attend industry events or trade shows to network and identify potential leads.
  • Support the sales team in achieving quarterly and annual revenue targets.


Required Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential Requirements
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in sales, customer management, or lead generation in a highly technical discipline.
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Educated to degree level preferably in an Engineering, Business or Marketing discipline (2.1 or above).
  • Proficient in customer relationship management (CRM) software (preferably Salesforce) and sales tools.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships.
  • Goal-oriented mindset and a desire to meet and exceed targets.
  • A logical approach to problem-solving and strong negotiation abilities.
  • Well organised, ability to work to deadlines and high attention to detail.
  • Ability and willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Requirements
  • Experience as a sales development representative, with a track record of achieving sales targets.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and industrial automation.
  • Knowledge of machine vision.
