Date: 2 days ago
City: Nottingham
Contract type: Full time

Make a real difference every day. Become a Residential Social Care Worker at Lyndene, where you’ll nurture young people’s growth and wellbeing in a supportive team that invests in you.

Are you passionate about making a difference to the lives of children and young people? At Lyndene, a warm and supportive children’s home ran by Nottinghamshire County Council, we’re looking for a compassionate, motivated individual to join our team as a Residential Social Care Worker.

In this role, you’ll help create a safe, nurturing environment where children and young people feel valued, supported, and empowered. You’ll use your empathy, resilience, and positive approach to meet their needs, while helping them build confidence and thrive.

You will be part of a compassionate team that values every member. Our residential workers come from various backgrounds, and we are eager to support new team members as they grow in this rewarding role.

As a Residential Social Care Worker, your main duties will include:

  • Providing high-quality care and support to young people in a residential setting.
  • Meeting the physical and emotional needs of the young people.
  • Engaging in activities that promote their development and well-being.
  • Working collaboratively with team members to create a safe and supportive environment.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to care plans.
  • Participating in shift work, including weekends and bank holidays.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 6 months experience working children, young people or adults, either in a voluntary, work or other relevant setting.
  • A background in supporting individuals with diverse needs.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
  • A full driving license (unless disability precludes this).

We are looking for individuals who demonstrate the following behaviours:

  • A caring and compassionate approach to working with young people.
  • Resilience in handling challenging situations, both physically and emotionally.
  • Strong teamwork skills, contributing positively to a collaborative environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of young people and the team.

Working Hours and Benefits

  • Working hours are 7:30-15:30.
  • You will be required to work 2 weekends in 4 (alternate weekends).

We offer generous enhancements for shift work, including additional pay for hours worked after 8 pm, weekends, and bank holidays. This can significantly increase your annual earnings.

At Nottinghamshire County Council, we offer:

  • A friendly, inclusive workplace where everyone is valued.
  • Opportunities for professional development and training.
  • A supportive environment that encourages personal growth.
  • A chance to be part of a community-focused organisation that truly cares.

If you are excited about working with young people, enjoy variety and fun, and are ready to take on a rewarding challenge in a warm, homely environment, we would love to hear from you!

NCC will not provide sponsorship for this role.
