We have an exciting opportunity for a Resettlement Officer to join us!

Do you have a desire to help people experiencing homelessness. Are you an experienced outreach officer with a passion for supporting rough sleepers or you may already have knowledge and understanding of homelessness though a previous job, as a volunteer, or through your own lived experience.

This is a full-time, permanent role and a salary of £32,962 – £36,791 per annum.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Resettlement Officer to join our Rough Sleeping team.

The Role

This is a hands-on-role that requires empathy, resilience, and a genuine passion for helping people with complex needs. You will need to be proactive with strong interpersonal and communication skills, physically fit - as this role involves lots of walking, often in all weathers.

Your Role Will Involve

• Some early starts at 5am, where you will seek out and locate rough sleepers across the borough.
• Support and encourage individuals to access specialist support, where desired, e.g. GP treatment and advice, Mental Health support, drug and alcohol support, harm reduction advice.
  
  

What We Are Looking For

• You’ll need to be resilient, patient, and ready to work with people who may struggle to engage with services like ours.
• You’ll have a compassionate, empathetic approach and a solid understanding about the complex challenges faced by people who are homeless or rough sleeping.
• To be able to keep calm and de-escalate any challenging behaviour.
• You will be motivated, great at talking to people, good organisation skills and willing to learn.
• You will need to be physically fit - as this role involves lots of walking, often in all weathers.
• The role involves early starts at 5am and requires a clean, valid UK driving licence and access to a car.
