We have an exciting opportunity for a Resettlement Officer to join us!
Do you have a desire to help people experiencing homelessness. Are you an experienced outreach officer with a passion for supporting rough sleepers or you may already have knowledge and understanding of homelessness though a previous job, as a volunteer, or through your own lived experience.
This is a full-time, permanent role and a salary of £32,962 – £36,791 per annum.

The Role
This is a hands-on-role that requires empathy, resilience, and a genuine passion for helping people with complex needs. You will need to be proactive with strong interpersonal and communication skills, physically fit - as this role involves lots of walking, often in all weathers.
Your Role Will Involve
If you have a disability, are a current or former member of the armed forces or have been part of any formal care system up to the age of 25, you will be guaranteed an interview, should you meet the minimum requirements for the role.
Interview dates: week commencing 5 th May (TBC)

The Role

Your Role Will Involve
- Some early starts at 5am, where you will seek out and locate rough sleepers across the borough.
- Support and encourage individuals to access specialist support, where desired, e.g. GP treatment and advice, Mental Health support, drug and alcohol support, harm reduction advice.
- You’ll need to be resilient, patient, and ready to work with people who may struggle to engage with services like ours.
- You’ll have a compassionate, empathetic approach and a solid understanding about the complex challenges faced by people who are homeless or rough sleeping.
- To be able to keep calm and de-escalate any challenging behaviour.
- You will be motivated, great at talking to people, good organisation skills and willing to learn.
- You will need to be physically fit - as this role involves lots of walking, often in all weathers.
- The role involves early starts at 5am and requires a clean, valid UK driving licence and access to a car.
