We are recruiting for an experienced Reporting Sonographer (3 years post graduate experience) to join our team providing Community Radiology Services at Bognor Regis War Memorial Hospital. The post is part time, for 15 hours per week, Thursday and Friday 8.30 to 17.00.
As a skilled Reporting Sonographer you will provide a caring and compassionate imaging service at the heart of the community. You need to be able to work independently, demonstrating a high level of competence and will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills.
The post holder will be supported in their work by a Image Support Worker; and the ideal candidate should be skilled in general, gynae and small parts ultrasound. Experience in vascular scanning (DVT) would also be an advantage.
CPD is supported and the post holder will participate in regular peer review meetings and audit with an external NHS provider.
The post holder will also support the leadership, supervision and line management of a team of: Radiographers, Sonographers, Image Support Workers and Administrators.
As a skilled Sonographer you will provide a caring, compassionate approach within our high quality imaging team. You need to be able to work independently, demonstrating a high level of competence (aligned to NHS pathways, NICE and BMUS guidelines) and will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills. Candidates should be skilled in general abdominal and gynae scanning. Experience in small parts, lumps and bumps, and vascular scanning (DVT) would also be an advantage.
CPD is supported and the post holder will participate in regular peer review meetings and audit feedback. This post offers an excellent opportunity to develop your professional and clinical skills

Job summary
To carry out ultrasound examinations in line with BMUS guidelines and professional competence.
To prioritise and organise own caseload.
To be able to work independently within a clearly defined set of department protocols and make informed clinical decisions in the absence of a Radiologist or seek a second opinion when required.
For each examination undertaken, a comprehensive diagnostic report will be formulated and returned to the referring clinician.
The post holder/s will be accountable for their own professional actions (including reporting) and have supervision responsibilities.
