Medivet Whittlesey is recruiting for an RVN to join the practice. Nestled in beautiful surroundings, this spacious clinic has recently been refurbed and has a marvellous team that you will be supported by, including our Lead Vet who holds a certification in Medicine, Head Nurse and Practice Manager.

Our light and airy practice offers plenty of natural light into our large premises with on-site parking to go with it, a spacious reception, staff room area and a lovely garden to sit and enjoy the sunshine in.

The position is a full-time role and 1:6 weekends with no out of hours and no on-call.

The town of Whittlesey sits on the very western edge of the fens, 6 miles east of Peterborough. Its central location gives you the perfect opportunity to explore the beautiful seaside of the West Norfolk coast, and Peterborough station also offers direct rail links to London King’s Cross in just an hour.

Role Accountabilities

In This Role You Will

  • Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
  • Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
  • Carry out nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities.
  • Deliver patient monitoring and care.
  • Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
  • Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.
  • Dispense and check medication.
  • Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.
  • Hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.

Your Skills And Experience

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
  • Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
  • Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.
  • Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
