Our team in Manchester provides essential financial support to the business. We are responsible for reconciling high-volume merchant and card scheme processing, as well as domestic and international bank accounts.
Our role is to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, identify and resolve issues, and contribute to the growth of the business. We prioritize good governance and control to maintain a well-managed and accurate financial system.
What You Will Be Doing:As the Team Manager, you will lead and mentor a team responsible for daily reconciliations and month-end close. You will review and approve balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Your role will involve resolving issues, improving processes, and collaborating with different departments.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage a team responsible for identifying and resolving reconciliation issues
- Reduce unexplained/unreconciled amounts and volumes over time
- Track progress and provide management with updates and plans for resolution
- Lead, develop, and motivate the team to maximize performance
- Ensure accurate and timely balance sheet reporting
- Evaluate data to improve service levels and processes
- Approve journal entries according to financial policies
- Assist with audits and drive process improvements
- Lead annual audit processes
- Support analytics preparations and reviews
- Drive a culture of operational excellence and customer service
- Promote standardization and productivity across teams
- Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and drive changes aligned with business needs
- Ensure accurate regulatory reporting when necessary
- Experience in reconciliations
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Effective management, organizational, and coaching abilities
- Experience in large-scale transaction processing
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to design and implement process improvements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and familiarity with other accounting software packages (e.g., Oracle)
- Experience in continuous process improvements
- Qualification as a CIMA/ACCA/ACA Accountant or equivalent
- Knowledge of Oracle Cloud and ARCS
- Understanding of Essbase reporting
