Ocean Infinity is seeking a Reliability, Availability, Maintainability (RAM) engineer to assist in the design and analysis of prognostic health management monitoring systems and improvements for a fleet of remotely operated vessels and other assets.
The position will involve modelling to develop a condition based monitoring systems to provide the data to identify and validate RAM improvements to vessel and payload systems alongside the models. When in service, the role will also analyze reports of failures and act on them to improve overall availability of the vessel and its systems.
There will also be a need to apply analytical skills to other use cases as the company needs. There will be elements of Research and Development with this position. The position will report to the RAM Engineering Lead
What will you do:
- Perform RAM analysis and ensuring traceability throughout the Project life cycle;
- Participate in the specification and design of Condition Monitoring System;
- Propose system and maintenance adjustments to improve overall system availability;
- Research and support the development of novel technologies to improve overall availability;
- Assisting / managing RAM review approvals;
- Verify the RAM of both hardware and software products by analysis including:Failure Modes Effects & Criticality Analysis (FMECA)/Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)/Hazard Analysis/Event Tree Analysis/Operating & Support Hazard Analysis (O&SHA) as necessary;
- Creating models using causality based modelling software;
- Validate models by running validation sessions with the real systems;
- Engage with multiple departments to provide RAM services through project life cycles;
- Work closely with marine systems experts including vessel design, ROVs, launch and recovery system, remote control systems and more;
- Be involved with analytical analysis of a wide range of metrics and data including efficiency of systems / plant;
- Apply analytical and modelling skills to other use cases as the company requires
Who you are:
- Formal training or supervised work in applying RAM Engineering techniques, methods and tools;
- Degree-level qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience;
- RAM Engineering familiarity;
- Experience with condition monitoring systems;
- Strong understanding of quality management such as standards, regulations and applicable policies and procedures;
- Good practical experience with office tools: MS Office, Google Drive, Teams, e-mail, among others;
- Ability to take ownership and engagement in the work;
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with diplomacy;
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment;
- Critical thinking and ability to show initiative;
- Open and receptive to new and different ideas;
- Ability to work well in a team and independently;
Desirable:
- Knowledge of marine systems and asset;
- Experience in Systems and Safety Assurance within the marine industry;
- Knowledge of risk modelling software.
Salary for this position: Up to £50,000 per annum
Salary: The salary varies for this position as we are recruiting in multiple regional locations and job grades. The salary process is based on skills, abilities, and experience required.
