As the Quantity Surveyor you will work closely with our Contract Teams, taking ownership of cost control, commercial management, and profitability across the full project lifecycle – from initial concept through to completion.


Key Responsibilities


  • Manage cost planning and commercial performance across projects
  • Prepare, analyse, and negotiate tenders and contract costs
  • Monitor variations, profitability, and cash flow throughout delivery
  • Review contract documents to protect against risk and onerous terms
  • Lead on subcontract procurement, negotiation, and account management
  • Support tender submissions by assessing risk and opportunity
  • Produce commercial reports and cost-to-complete forecasts
  • Manage and submit variations and contractual claims
  • Drive value engineering and cost efficiency without compromising quality
  • Attend internal and external commercial review meetings
  • Ensure compliance with industry contracts, standards, and H&S regulations


Skills and Experience


  • Degree in Quantity Surveying (RICS accredited) or a related discipline OR relevant HNC/HND/BSc qualification or industry equivalent
  • Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor or similar commercial role
  • Strong commercial and contractual awareness (NEC experience desirable)
  • Background in civil engineering, utilities, or M&E projects
  • Confident managing multiple contracts and stakeholders
  • Excellent numeracy, negotiation, and reporting skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
  • Proactive, organised, and able to manage workloads effectively
  • A clear communicator who can simplify complex information
