This role will be within our water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.

What will you be doing?

As our Quality Manager you'll be working on our Anglian Water contract. You'll be based out of our Colchester Office delivering the capital maintenance programme for water and wastewater non-infrastructure programme.

You'll play an integral role in our Water and Wastewater Infrastructure programme involves £500m investment for the next 5 years. The programme of work includes the design and construction of water and wastewater non-infrastructure across the Anglian Water region.

You'll offer operational assistance for planning, assurance and review of Quality through our processes and procedures and in line with ISO 9001. You'll be reporting directly to the Framework Manager. Providing the support to ensure the delivery of projects to the highest quality standard. Ensuring compliance with established specifications and procedures, driving a culture of ‘right first time’ throughout the business.

You'll assist the delivery teams at every stage to ensure and enhance compliance with the Business Management System and client requirements. Review and approve all Quality Planning documentation to ensure effective Project Quality Plans and Inspection Test Plans are in place to successfully manage works.

You'll be leading internal audit process, coordination of external audits, including client auditing and accreditation assessments. Actively driving a culture of ‘right first time’ resulting in reduction of delivery costs to bring the required efficiencies on the programme.

Drive and ensure that post-project appraisals occur at the completion of projects across all workstreams. Through working groups and contract teams, share good practices and lessons learned across the water division.

You'll engage with the client at the relevant levels to build/develop and maintain relationships. Be a key contributor to the business strategy to ensure sustainable performance and secure contract extension. Effective communicator with the broader contract and water divisional team.

You'll be providing input on supply chain to aid programme delivery, through assessment and auditing. Manage the contract’s defects and re-works. Provide focus on what poor quality is costing the contract, while analysing and trending the data to drive improvement in this area.

What You’ll Bring

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and experience.
  • Experience in quality management and auditing within the construction industry.
  • Proven track record of maintenance and management of a Business Management System.
  • Strong auditing skills, plus the ability to problem-solve and carry out in-depth root cause analysis.
  • CQI and IRCA-certified ISO 9001: 2015 Auditor/Lead Auditor qualification.
  • Requirement to travel to various site locations.
