This is an exciting opportunity to join an award-winning publisher and its biggest division. Reporting to the Publicity Director, the Publicity Assistant will be responsible for supporting the Pan Publicity team and their campaigns, and ensuring the smooth running of the department.

This is an entry-level role. You may not have worked in book publishing before but you will have demonstrated strong organisational and communication skills in a previous role.

Key tasks of the role include:


  • Providing administrative support to the Publicity Director and ensuring the smooth running of the team with the execution of specific and general administrative tasks
  • Being the first point of contact for queries from journalists, members of the public and suppliers via email and telephone
  • Co-ordinating of our paperback mailings and paperback review coverage
  • Supporting the team on campaigns, including attending occasional events and interviews
  • Assisting freelancers with campaign administration
  • Assisting in tracking budgets and processing invoices
  • Sending out single copies of books and ordering finished copies for mailouts
  • Running mail merges, printing labels, packing books, writing comp slips where needed
  • Logging press coverage, managing and filing clippings, and pulling together seasonal round-ups
  • Competitor research
  • Potential to work on own campaigns after a short period of doing the job

Job Description

This is a full time, permanent role, and will be based in our offices in Farringdon, London, with some flexibility to work from home each week. Our preference would be a candidate who can start within a month or two at the latest.

Salary starting from: £26,000
