An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Knowsley Council’s Public Health team, ideal for someone who wishes to start a career in public health or those wishing to develop their career further.
The public health team is responsible for providing leadership on health improvement and health protection to reduce health inequalities and improve health outcomes for residents. It does this through influencing and working across the council and with partners to promote health behaviours, embed a health in all policies approach and deliver system approaches to improve health outcomes.

The post will be responsible for providing support to public health leads across a breadth of public health programmes, projects and activities. This will include ensuring specific tasks are planned, managed, monitored and evaluated. Undertaking research, analysis, drafting reports and managing action plans. Plus supporting in meetings, opportunities to work with a range of internal and external partners. Topics will be varied but may include supporting planning and responses to health protection matters, activity related to influencing policy and practice regarding the social determinants of health, public health campaigns and health improvement programmes.
This unique post is a career-graded post that can be undertaken at H, J or K grade with a variety of tasks as set out in the job description and relevant skills and experience detailed in person specification.
