Summer at Attingham is fun and energetic. We will be welcoming tens of thousands of visitors over the summer holidays, and you'll be a key part of the Visitor Experience Team, helping ensure families have a memorable day out.
This is a zero-hour contract, meaning we can’t guarantee a set number of hours each week. While we aim to provide a consistent work pattern, flexibility is needed as schedules may change based on business needs. We’ll try to give as much notice as possible. The role includes weekends and Bank Holidays but does not require evening or split shifts.

What it's like to work here:Reporting to the Senior Communications & Marketing Officer, you’ll be working as part of the busy Visitor Experience Team of staff and volunteers. You'll be based at the popular Field of Play at Attingham throughout the Summer, delivering our Summer of Play family programme. The Summer play hub contains, amongst other things, a straw play feature, a pre-school zone and den building and there will be programmed activities taking place throughout August.
Click here for more information about this locationWhat you'll be doing:We operate seven days a week and are currently looking for two Programming Assistants to join our Visitor Experience team. The anticipated start date is week commencing 13 July 2026.
The roles are part-time, including regular weekend working, on a fixed-term contract until 6 September 2026. We expect you’ll work four days per week once the school holidays start.
As the largest conservation charity in Europe, we work hard to raise funds to continue to care for our sites forever for everyone. There is plenty of opportunity to learn new skills and support will be available for leading activities. You'll be engaging with visitors and gathering people to take part in the games and activities that you'll lead.
This is a hands-on, active outdoor role where no two days are the same. You’ll keep everything looking its best and make sure visitors feel informed, welcome, and ready to get involved.
From leading fun activities to keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes, you’ll be out and about throughout the day, topping up resources, cleaning up signage, and making sure the play areas are safe, tidy, and ready for action. Whether it’s a quick litter pick or a friendly chat with visitors, you’ll play a key part in creating a brilliant experience for everyone who visits.
