Job Summary

In this role you will work as part of a multi-disciplined Engineering team providing shift engineering support and solutions to the St Austell facility in line with business requirements.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • The job holder is aware of all relevant Procedures and Instructions as per company policy that apply to the position covered by this job description.
  • Act as the first point of contact for fault diagnosis, investigation and problem solving in the event of break-downs for all site machinery from both an electrical* & mechanical perspective.
  • Maintaining equipment and services by carrying out planned maintenance and improvements.
  • Undertake projects as directed by the Engineering Supervisor.
  • Manage, track and record all work on the maintenance management system.
  • Undertake continuous improvement through the use of lean sigma tools.
  • Liaise with the Shift Supervisor to ensure any equipment faults or instances of poor quality are prioritised, investigated and dealt with in a timely fashion.
  • Report asset and equipment status at the end of each shift.
  • Attend the LDMS to report asset and equipment status.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Where trained

Education

  • Level 3 in Engineering (or equivalent) – Electrical Mechanical
  • Recognised Risk and COSHH Assessment training.
  • Level 3 qualification in the English language
  • Level 3 qualification in numeracy

Work Experience

  • Relevant experience in fault recognition and rectification in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Technical experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands on technical skills in both mechanical and electrical disciplines.
  • Competent and experienced in carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety and Environmental working practices.
  • Good problem-solving skills and a creative approach to new ideas
  • Ability to manage small projects.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously
  • Ability to develop working relationships across all levels of the business
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Demonstrate a can do attitude
  • Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
  • Support and contribute in Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target
  • Able to comply with the company’s safety policy at all times
  • Able to comply with the company’s quality policy at all times.

Travel Requirements

5%: Up to 13 business days per year
